Sicario: Day of the Soldado Trailer #2

Here is the latest trailer for Sony’s upcoming Sicario sequel, which is now apparently sporting a brand new title: Sicario: Day of the Soldado. The movie brings back Josh Brolin as federal agent Matt Graver and Benicio del Toro as revenge-fuelled hitman Alejandro, this time conspiring together to trigger a war between two cartels. The plot seems to revolve around the teenage daughter of one of the heads of the cartels, who forces Alejandro to reconsider his mission. Sicario: Day of the Soldado is directed by Stefano Sollima (Suburra) and written by Taylor Sheridan (Wind River) and it hits theatres on June 29th. Check out the new trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

Loved the first. Don’t need a second.

The title of this sequel keeps getting worse. Sicario was an incredible movie, but without DV at the helm i don’t hold out much hope for this.

    That is one long trailer.

Good to see (hear?) that they used the Jóhann Jóhannsson score for the trailer. That plus lots of helicopter shots got me slightly pumped (and I loved Wind River). Checked on IMDB to see whose doing the score for this and Jóhann Jóhannsson isn’t mentioned…just the name of an Icelandic Cellist so perhaps she picked up the baton to finish what he started?

Loved the first but but without DV involved I was skeptical…but this trailer looks pretty cool and I love Me some Brolin and Benicio so I’m in!
