Roseanne Revival Gets First Full Trailer

We’re less than a month away from seeing the iconic ’90s sitcom Roseanne return to television and just last night ABC unveiled the first full trailer for the upcoming revival. The entire original cast is back along with some fan favourite guest stars, but does it still feel like the same Conner family we all know and love? I would have to say yes… yes it does. It appears that they will playfully acknowledge yet ultimately gloss over most of the plot developments from the show’s final season, which is probably for the best. The new season will feature nine episodes with the possibility of making more in the near future. Roseanne premieres on ABC on March 27th at 8 pm EST; check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

This actually entices me more to just watch that “final” season which seemed so batshit crazy with them becoming the Beverly Hillbillies, but then later learning it was all a script and Dan died… Yet didn’t.

I wonder if they’re retconning it, or if they’ll find some way of working it in.

Mhm, I would actually be more intrigued to watch “same episodes, new cast”.

I think they will be doing some kind of retconning, but season nine of the original run was all a dream, according to Roseanne. Dan passes away at the end of Season 8, and to deal with the grief Roseanne writes a book set in an alternate realty where the Connors are lottery winners. All the craziness of season 9 makes a lot more sense when framed like this, but it still doesn’t explain how Dan is back for these new episodes.

I am doing nothing from 7PM on that night, except watching Roseanne and eating bon bons. I’m all in!

Perhaps it is not retconning, perhaps Roseanne is still super-rich, and this is rich Roseannes fantasy with Dan still alive.
