Uncle Drew Trailer Starring Kyrie Irving and Shaquille O’Neal

Fresh off the recent news that Apple is developing a basketball TV series with Kevin Durant and LeBron is producing a House Party reboot, here is the first trailer for Uncle Drew, a movie based on a series of Pepsi ads featuring a ton of NBA stars. Kyrie Irving plays the titular character, a legendary NBA old-timer who is persuaded to recruit all of his former teammates in order to enter the Rucker Classic streetball tournament. Shaquille O’Neal, Reggie Miller, Nate Robinson, Chris Webber and Lisa Leslie all make up the team of so-called septuagenarians while Lil Rel Howery and Nick Kroll also co-star. Hilarity ensues. Uncle Drew is directed by Charles Stone III (Mr. 3000, Drumline) and written by Jay Longino (Skiptrace) and it hits theatres on June 29th. Check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

It looks like someone was watching “Cocoon” and said, “I want to make a whole movie based on just the basketball scene, but with terrible old age prostetics, bad acting, and zero comedy!” Ugh, what a crap pile.
