Life of the Party Trailer Starring Melissa McCarthy

After the marketing campaign for last year’s Snatched pushed it pretty hard as ideal mother / daughter entertainment for Mother’s Day, this year Warner Brothers is attempting the same pitch with the Melissa McCarthy comedy Life of the Party. The movie is a loose remake of the Rodney Dangerfield classic Back to School and it finds McCarthy playing a divorced mom who decides to go back to college, ending up in the same classes as her daughter. This is the latest collaboration between McCarthy and husband Ben Falcone who also directed Tammy and The Boss, although this one seems like it has the most commercial potential of the bunch. Life of the Party co-stars Gillian Jacobs, Maya Rudolph, Julie Bowen, Matt Walsh, Molly Gordon, Stephen Root and Jacki Weaver and it hits theatres on May 11th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

The idea of having the same college classes as my parents is so anxiety-inducing. This film looks obvious, but watchable.
