Super Bowl Trailers: Solo: A Star Wars Story, Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Skyscraper

Over the past few years, most of the movie trailers shown during the Super Bowl have been somewhat underwhelming, primarily just recycling footage that had already been released. This year, however, in addition to Netflix’s bombshell, many studios stepped up their game in a big way by dropping first looks for several major summer blockbusters including Solo: A Star Wars Story, Skyscraper starring Dwayne Johnson and Mission: Impossible – Fallout (the latter of which looks like it may somehow manage to top the last two installments). There were also new TV spots for The Avengers: Infinity War and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom not to mention several high profile TV shows like Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Hulu’s Stephen King series Castle Rock, and the second season of HBO’s Westworld. Around the Web:

  • Dirk Gently

The only interesting property here isn’t even a movie. TV is the new Cinema.

Dax has gotta be on the next pod. Solo trailer reaction, his TLJ review and Cloverfield 3 may need a guest if Jay refuses to rush in the emergency viewing.

So Fallout seems to be a continuation from Rogue Nation.

  • Blake in Boston

M:I Fallout certainly looks the most interesting/exciting out of all of these.

  • Lori Cerny

I just want to punch all these movies in the face.

  • Tommy

I think MI looks pretty sadly generic compared to the previous movies.

  • Kasper

    Fallout looks awesome, can’t wait!

  • Larry Morgan

So now Mission Impossible is taking queues from James Bond which originally copied Jason Bourne. Lol.

That trailer basically was a rehash of Spectre.
