Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp Trailer


Although most people seem to be pretty focused on Black Panther and The Avengers: Infinity War right now, Marvel has a third movie coming out later this year that is getting a little bit overshadowed. Ant-Man and the Wasp is the follow-up to 2015’s Ant-Man with the obvious selling point being that Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) has taken over for her mother as The Wasp and now gets equal billing. Peyton Reed returns to direct, and although this is still clearly on the comedic side, it does feel like a bit of a step down from the first film in terms of visuals and set pieces. It’s still a bit early though and we haven’t really seen much of Walton Goggins and Hannah John-Kamen as villains Sonny Burch and Ghost. New additions to the cast also include Laurence Fishburne and Michelle Pfeiffer while Michael Douglas and Michael Pena reprise their roles from the first film. Ant-Man and the Wasp hits theatres on July 6th (just two months after Infinity War); check out the first trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

    I’ll be honest. Calling it “TV Digital cinematography” is certainly something I learned from listening to this podcast. That doesn’t mean I did not notice all these movies generally look the same and don’t do anything visually interesting from a cinematography standpoint. It’s one of those things that is easily noticeable and can’t be unseen once it’s pointed out to you.

    In response to “Why do people accept this?” – I’ll say because it’s ‘acceptable.’ I guess general audiences don’t really care as long as they’re being given the next serialized entry in the MCU/DCEU in a minimum ‘acceptable’ level of quality.
