Hereditary Trailer: A24 Brings the Latest Sundance Horror Hit to Theatres

If Blumhouse has become the most trusted name in low budget horror over the past few years, A24 has quietly been building up an audience of their own, perhaps leaning a little more towards the so-called “art-house horror” movement. One of their big 2018 releases just made a splash in the Midnight section at Sundance this month where it was declared unsettling, terrifying, disturbing and just about every other great adjective you could want for a horror flick. Hereditary stars Toni Collette as the matriarch of a family dealing with the recent loss of their grandmother, who find themselves descending into madness as they begin to unravel dark secrets about their ancestry. This is the feature debut of Ari Aster, who has previously written and directed several shorts, and it would seem to mark the introduction of a bold new talent. Hereditary co-stars Gabriel Byrne, Alex Wolff and Ann Dowd and it hits theatres on June 8th. Check out the first trailer after the jump and see what you think.
