Duncan Jones’ Mute Trailer

After years of trying to get his sci-fi movie Mute off the ground, Netflix finally came to the rescue for Duncan Jones. Now the official trailer is here, just a few weeks before the movie is expected to drop. It is clearly inspired by Blade Runner with its neon-soaked cityscape, something that Jones has always been upfront about, but it does seem a bit ironic that we’re only getting this movie now after the release of Blade Runner 2049. Described as a “spiritual sequel” to Moon, the movie stars Alexander Skarsgard as Leo, a mute bartender in search of his missing girlfriend who crosses paths with a pair of U.S. army surgeons (Paul Rudd and Justin Theroux). Between this and Altered Carbon on Netflix and Annihilation in theatres, February is shaping up to be a good month for science-fiction fans. Mute arrives on Netflix on Feb. 23rd; check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.
