David Bruckner’s The Ritual Trailer

After contributing to several noteworthy horror anthologies including The Signal, V/H/S and Southbound and also being attached to a Friday the 13th reboot for a while, director David Bruckner’s first feature-length project is finally upon us. The Ritual premiered at TIFF last year, followed by a U.K. theatrical release in October and now Netflix is about to release it to the rest of the world. Based on the novel by Adam Nevill, the movie revolves around four friends who travel to the Scandinavian wilderness for some adventure, only to find themselves lost and haunted by an ancient evil that still exists in the forest. It’s hard not to be reminded of The Blair Witch Project, albeit without the found footage trappings. The Ritual arrives on Netflix on February 9th; check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

    Looks as generic as possible.

  • Lori Cerny

Nice scenery and sound effects, but there is something odd about it. Maybe the lack of a token minority?

    Hmm, I’d still watch it.

  • Lisa V Benson

Nice music. Hopefully some jump scares in this!
