I Kill Giants Trailer: A Graphic Novel Adaptation About Battling Imaginary Monsters

There are plenty of movies about kids who imagine fantasy worlds to deal with real world problems (ie. Pan’s Labyrinth, A Monster Calls, Where the Wild Things Are) but I Kill Giants looks like another intriguing addition to the list. Directed by Danish filmmaker Anders Walter, it revolves around a Dungeons & Dragons-obsessed teenage girl named Barbara (Madison Wolfe) who escapes into a magical world where her quest is to hunt giants. Imogen Poots plays Barbara’s older sister while Zoe Saldana plays a school psychologist who is growing increasingly concerned. Walter’s short film Helium won an Academy Award a few years back and the movie is also based on an acclaimed graphic novel by Joe Kelly and Ken Niimura. Did I mention that Chris Columbus is a producer? I Kill Giants hits select theatres and VOD on March 23rd; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

Looks too good to be VOD trash…wonder why it’s only getting a limited release?
