Tomb Raider Trailer #2

tombraider

Although the jury is still out on the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot, it seems unlikely that it will repeat the success of the 2001 Angelina Jolie film, which remains the highest grossing video game movie to date (domestically, at least). That being said, perhaps Alicia Vikander can provide Lara Croft with a little more humanity and heart while still kicking ass along the way. The new trailer goes a bit deeper into the story and shows us more of Walton Goggins as the scenery-chewing villain, plus it also gives us a downbeat cover of Destiny’s Child’s “Survivor”. Raiders of the Lost Ark it ain’t, but then again, what is? Tomb Raider hits theatres on March 16th, 2018; check out the new trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

This looks great! And Reed will be pleased that it’s another film with a kick ass female lead!

  • Fletcher Thomas

    Vikander, man. Wow.

  • Lior

Looks better than the first trailer. Still not convinced she’s right for the role, though. But it’s hard to judge that just based on a trailer. I would’ve liked to see a more sense of fun since it seems to take itself very seriously. Also, the lack of any overt fantastical elements in the trailer is interesting.

That looks ace! Maybe the fantasy elements will come in later – always remember seeing a T Rex slowly coming towards me in the first game and that feeling of ‘what the hell!’.
