Simon Pegg and Nick Frost to Produce Horror-Comedy Series Truth Seekers

It’s been a few years since Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost brought their Cornetto Trilogy to a conclusion with The World’s End, but at this point I think we’re all wondering the same thing: will they ever work together again? Although Edgar Wright has been striking out on his own with some different kinds of films, Pegg and Frost are taking steps to ensure that they will continue to work together for the foreseeable future. The duo have formed a production company called Stolen Picture that is currently developing several projects including a TV series called Truth Seekers. The show is a horror-comedy that revolves around a paranormal investigation team and Pegg has described it as follows:

“Each episode is going to be an adventure, a potential haunting or something… It’ll start as a very parochial idea, a very small business venture for these people, but it will expand as the series goes on to be something far more global. It’s a language everyone understands, the mystery of the unknown. Shaun of the Dead was a very parochial story set in North London and somehow it managed to get this global reach because everyone understands the language of zombie movies.”

They also have a horror-comedy film in post-production called Slaughterhouse Rulez about a fracking site that unleashes a demon. That project is being written and directed by Crispian Mills (A Fantastic Fear of Everything). It is unclear if Pegg and Frost have any involvement in either of these projects other than as producers, but they are also supposedly working on a partially improvised movie about “a fading double act who haven’t spoken for decades but reunite one last time” which seems intended for them to star in. Either way, it should be interesting to see what kinds of things they set up at their company and whether they all share their comedic sensibilities. Are you looking forward to more Simon Pegg and Nick Frost collaborations even if they don’t include Edgar Wright?

I’m in. It kind of sounds similar to the FOX show ‘Ghosted’ with Adam Scott and Craig Robinson. I’ve yet to check that out though, been meaning to…just too much TV to keep up with these days :)
