Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Trailer

Here it is, the first trailer for the follow-up to the fourth highest grossing movie of all time… which, to be honest, now seems somewhat ludicrous in retrospect. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom apparently tries to flip the script a bit by having Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard team up to rescue the dinosaurs instead of trying to rescue themselves. It turns out that a volcanic eruption is threatening to destroy Isla Nublar. Jeff Goldblum will also return as Dr. Ian Malcolm, although from what we are hearing, his role is fairly minor. Sadly, the trailer feels like it is really struggling to make us care and it is a reminder of why the franchise ran out of steam with Jurassic Park III in the first place. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is directed by J.A. Bayona (The Impossible, A Monster Calls) and it hits theatres on June 22nd. Check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

Truly the “Come with me if you want to live” of movie trailers

I don’t think the trailer is “struggling to make us care.” I think it’s achieving at making me excited for some dino disaster action while holding back plot details that I’ve seen hinted at elsewhere. It may not be the best trailer but it has not diminished my excitement or anticipation.

i could not detect a single original idea.

Did you guys see “A Monster Calls”? Book was great, film was quite good too. Excellent effects, quite heavy on the sappy but not by mistake. I think this movie could be more intense than the first World, which was pretty paint-by-numbers.

So it’s a mashup of all the previous movies? I’ll pass.

I liked Jurassic World, the nostalgia worked on me despite that stupid dinosaur they created. I’m mildly excited for this as well

“Any way we can get a fire breathing dinosaur in this thing? Listen, if we can’t, I’ll settle for a volcano.”

    How so?
