Jose Padilha’s 7 Days in Entebbe Trailer

Brazilian director Jose Padilha is best known for gritty crime dramas like the Elite Squad films and the Narcos TV series (not to mention the mostly unnecessary 2014 remake of a little movie called RoboCop). Now he is back with a real-life thriller that falls right in his wheelhouse called 7 Days in Entebbe. The movie revolves around the 1976 hijacking of an Air France flight by Palestinian terrorists, who grounded the plane at Entebbe Airport in Uganda, and the subsequent rescue attempt by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). If it turns out to be a hit, Paul Greengrass may have some competition in the “tense thriller based on true events” department. 7 Days in Entebbe stars Rosamund Pike, Daniel Brühl and Eddie Marsan and it hits select theatres on March 16th. Check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

Isn’t this like the 4th remake? I remember “Raid on Entebee” which was a movie in the 70’s but weren’t there two others?

Either way it’s sad that a topic like this is still relevant and more likely to stay relevant for a very very long time.

If I’m not mistaken this is the third version. The first one was an Israeli film made in 1977 directed by Menahem Golan called Opertaion Thunderbolt, the second one was Raid on Entebbe which was a TV movie from the 80’s. This is the first theatrical foreign version. Again, this is just from memory, I didn’t google it.
