Altered Carbon Teaser Trailer: Netflix’s Upcoming Cyberpunk Sci-fi Series

After landing at Netflix almost two years ago, the upcoming sci-fi series Altered Carbon finally has an official premiere date and a teaser trailer as well. Based on the novel by Richard Morgan, the show takes place 300 years in the future where the human mind can now be digitized and transferred between bodies. Joel Kinnaman (Robocop, Suicide Squad) plays Takeshi Kovacs, a soldier whose mind was put on ice for centuries and is now freed in exchange for helping to solve a murder. Written and produced by Laeta Kalogridis (Terminator Genisys, Shutter Island) and directed by Miguel Sapochnik (Repo Men), Altered Carbon hits Netflix on Feb. 2nd, 2018. Check out the teaser after the jump and see what you think.

If the human mind can be digitized then it follows that it can then be copied multiple times; which instantly makes me wonder what a room with ten Reeds in it, discussing Star Trek, would sound like. Probably come under the banner of ‘Weaponized Conversation’. The TV show looks cool too!

Loved this book series, so I’m nervous about this. This didn’t give much away, but I will definitely check it out.

Interesting. I had no idea this was being adapted into a series. The novel is very dense…
