New to Theatres This Weekend: Justice League, Wonder, The Star

moviesjusticeleague

The first few DC Extended Universe films culminate with the release of Justice League this weekend, which brings several iconic superheroes together on the big screen for the first time. Based on the popularity of these characters, you might think that this should be a guaranteed smash hit but it’s tracking a fair bit lower than both Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad. Can the widespread love for Wonder Woman help put it over the top? Also in wide release we have the inspirational family drama Wonder starring Jacob Tremblay, Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson, along with the Nativity-themed animated film The Star. In select theatres we also have Roman J. Israel, Esq. starring Denzel Washington and Sundance hit Mudbound (which is also debuting on Netflix). What will you be watching this weekend?

I did! It’s messy but fun and entertaining. I could see the FJ star ratings being all over the place though.
