New to Theatres This Weekend: Murder on the Orient Express, Daddy’s Home 2, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri

Thor: Ragnarok should continue to rule over the box office once again this weekend, but we have a couple of new movies in wide release competing for second place. Kenneth Branagh’s new adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express has the benefit of an all-star cast but it faces an uphill battle against Daddy’s Home 2 starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. The original Daddy’s Home opened with an impressive $38 million over the holiday weekend back in 2015. In select theatres, we also have Martin McDonagh’s Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (riding a wave of awards season buzz for lead Frances McDormand), along with the Norwegian fantasy / sci-fi film Thelma and Alex Gibney’s latest documentary No Stone Unturned. What will you be watching this weekend?
