There’s… Johnny! Trailer: David Gordon Green and Paul Reiser’s New Hulu Series

With Red Oaks having wrapped its third and final season on Amazon and Vice Principals currently finishing up its second season on HBO, David Gordon Green is adding yet another TV show to his resume this month with the launch of There’s… Johnny! on Hulu. Created by Paul Reiser, the show was originally slated to appear on Seeso this past summer before NBCUniversal pulled the plug on the streaming service. Set in the early ’70s, it takes place behind the scenes of The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson with Ian Nelson playing a young man hired as a gofer on the show. Tony Danza plays Tonight Show producer Fred de Cordova while Jane Levy, Roger Bart and T’keyah Keymah also co-star. There’s… Johnny! premieres on Nov. 16th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

There is too much TV to keep up with. This one sounds interesting, but I am more curious about this Red Oaks show that apparently has been on for 3 seasons. Produced by DGG, starring Paul Reiser and Richard Kind and set in the 80s? How have I never heard about this yet??

And Steven Soderbergh as an exec producer to boot. I think Sean actually talked about it on the show back when he saw the pilot. It’s a pretty good show, kind of Freaks and Geeks meets Caddyshack.

Sold! Ya, I did a search and it looks like it back on episode 480 (Blue Ruin) but I don’t recall the discussion.
