Rob Zombie to Direct The Devil’s Rejects Sequel

It’s been over a year now since Rob Zombie’s 31 hit select theatres and VOD and since then things have been pretty quiet for Zombie with regards to new filmmaking projects. He has had a few things in development over the past couple of years including a horror-comedy series called Trapped and a Groucho Marx biopic, but we haven’t had any recent updates on either of those. This week, however, we are hearing that he is planning to resurrect another project and return to the movie that is generally believed to be his strongest directorial work to date. That’s right, The Devil’s Rejects is apparently getting a sequel of some sort although most of the details are still unknown. Hit the jump for more info.

According to Bloody Disgusting, Rob Zombie will direct a follow-up to his 2005 film The Devil’s Rejects. While that may seem surprising given the way that the original film concluded, it is certainly not the first time he has talked about a sequel. Unfortunately, we still don’t know what form it will take, only that it appears to be his next project behind the camera.

Considering that Zombie’s last film was crowdfunded and seemed to be a bit of a struggle to produce, perhaps he has decided to go back to an established property that will be easier to finance. On the other hand, maybe it is just that enough time has passed and he feels that he is finally ready to tell the next chapter in the Firefly family saga. Are you looking forward to a sequel to The Devil’s Rejects?

I really wanted to see the hockey movie he was working on about the broad street bullies, but haven’t heard about that one in a while so I guess it’s not happening anymore.

Oh god no- it was bad enough him glorifying a bunch of foul rapist murderers in the first one , he even expected us to sympathise with them at the end. I really don’t get the love for zombie, his movies are self indulgent pants.
