Winchester: The House That Ghosts Built Trailer

With Jigsaw hitting theatres this weekend, CBS Films has just released the first trailer for the next movie from The Spierig Brothers, which looks like a much more traditional horror flick. After directing such genre films as Daybreakers and Predestination, they are now putting their own spin on a classic ghost story with Winchester: The House That Ghosts Built, based on the true story of The Winchester Mystery House in San Jose. The house was built by Sarah Winchester in the late 1800s and was said to be haunted by the ghosts of those killed by Winchester rifles. Helen Mirren plays Winchester and Sarah Snook (Predestination) plays her niece while Jason Clark is a doctor who seems to be investigating the strange phenomena in the mansion. Winchester: The House That Ghosts Built hits theaters on Feb. 2nd; check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

There’s a great fictional horror comic from Dark Horse about the Winchester house’s construction called House of Penance.Look that up.
It’s on sale at Comixology if you do digital.

Mirror scares seem so cliche now.
