2017 Emmy Award Winners

2017emmys

The 69th Primetime Emmy Awards were handed out last night on CBS, and as per usual, HBO dominated with 29 wins (although not necessarily for the shows that you might expect). Game of Thrones was absent this year thanks to its late start date and HBO’s other drama Westworld was completely shut out in the major categories. However, Veep continued its success with several wins in the comedy categories while Big Little Lies and The Night Of had strong showings in the mini-series categories. Hulu came away the big winner on the drama side with The Handmaid’s Tale while Netflix struggled a bit (Stranger Things failed to take home any awards). Charlie Brooker and Donald Glover received recognition for Atlanta and Black Mirror, however, while Saturday Night Live also had one of its strongest showings in years for obvious reasons. What did you think of this year’s Emmys? Check out the full list of nominees and winners after the jump.
