New to Theatres This Weekend: The Hitman’s Bodyguard, Logan Lucky, Patti Cake$
Two major releases hit theatres this weekend but in keeping with late summer tradition neither one is expected to put much of a dent in the box office. R-rated action comedy The Hitman’s Bodyguard could challenge Annabelle: Creation for the top spot although even the star power of Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson might not be enough to give it a win. Steven Soderbergh’s heist comedy Logan Lucky also seems to be on track for a somewhat inauspicious debut despite a star-studded cast. In select theatres, we also have the Sundance hit Patti Cake$, indie dramedy Lemon, and Justin Chon’s L.A. Riots drama Gook. What will you be watching this weekend?
