New to Theatres This Weekend: Atomic Blonde, The Emoji Movie, An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power

Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk will be looking for a repeat victory at the box office this weekend as it goes up against two relatively minor wide releases: the action-thriller Atomic Blonde starring Charlize Theron and the CG animated film The Emoji Movie. The former had decent buzz coming out of SXSW while the latter is currently sitting at 0% on Rotten Tomatoes although it could still lure in family audiences. In select theatres, Kathryn Bigelow’s Detroit is opening on 20 screens before going wide next weekend. Other movies in limited release include Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power, the indie dramedy Brigsby Bear starring Kyle Mooney, and most importantly, the documentary 30 Years of Garbage: The Garbage Pail Kids Story. What will you be watching this weekend?
