New to Theatres This Weekend: War for the Planet of the Apes, Wish Upon, Lady Macbeth

Matt Reeves’ War for the Planet of the Apes storms theatres this weekend with an army of stellar reviews behind it, gunning for potentially the biggest box office opening for the Apes franchise to date. It still has Spider-Man: Homecoming to contend with, however, which is expected to deliver a strong second weekend. Also in wide release look for the PG-13 horror film Wish Upon and the acclaimed romantic comedy The Big Sick, which is expanding nationwide after generating a significant buzz in limited release. In select theatres, we also have the dark period drama Lady Macbeth, the environmental documentary Chasing Coral and indie drama Blind starring Alec Baldwin and Demi Moore. What will you be watching this weekend?

Let’s let Reed know we want him for this show! Upvote and comment!

Wish Upon is getting a wide release? Awesome!….should I know what this movie is?

  • Mano-70

I assumed he would be there. Reed you must appear on the show!

  • ProjectGenesis

He said on Twitter he is not appearing. Hope he reconsiders. It’s not an Apes Cast without Reed!

  • XavierQ40

He was on for the reviews of Rise and Dawn. If he skips War that’s gonna mess up the trilogy review cred. My thinking is he will be there and he’s just pulling his usual pre-appearance shenanigans

  • Reed Farrington

My shenanigans this time are for realz! I was invited, but I opted out, thus ruining the trilogy review cred. One person on my social media mentioned that he hated Rise and Dawn, but loved War. Maybe I should regret opting out.

Always enjoy your take on these films. You will be missed. As an admirer of Stephen King, maybe we’ll get you for Dark Tower in a few weeks???

  • Reed Farrington

I’m not really an admirer of Stephen King, yet. I just have a lot of his books that I haven’t read. I have listened to several of his audiobooks though.
