Joe Wright’s Darkest Hour Trailer Starring Gary Oldman

With Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk just over a week away, Focus Features have released the first trailer for another movie set during essentially the same period of WWII. Darkest Hour stars Gary Oldman as Winston Churchill in his first days as British prime minister, where he was forced to make a difficult decision between negotiating a possible peace treaty with Nazi Germany or standing in opposition to them no matter the cost. This is also the second Churchill-specific biopic to be released this year after Churchill starring Brian Cox and probably the third trailer this year to feature his famous “We shall fight on the beaches” speech. Darkest Hour is directed by Joe Wright (Atonement, Hanna) and it hits select theatres on Nov. 22nd; check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.
