Cult of Chucky Trailer

After nearly 30 years, Chucky is still alive and kicking and believe it or not he’s returning for a seventh installment in the long-running Child’s Play horror franchise. This will be the third film directed by series creator and writer Don Mancini and it appears to continue the more serious tone re-established in the last film, Curse of Chucky, after the comedic sequels Bride of Chucky and Seed of Chucky. This will also bring together cast members from many of the previous films including Alex Vincent, Jennifer Tilly, Summer H. Howell, Fiona Dourif, and of course, Brad Dourif as the voice of Chucky. Unfortunately, it is also skipping a theatrical release and going direct to DVD, which seems like a bit of a shame considering how well-received the last film was. Cult of Chucky hits DVD, Blu-ray and Digital HD on Oct. 3rd; check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

Fuck, I wonder within this series if it subverts typical subversion at this point. I will be popping on this baby blue as a curiousity exploratory of my controlled aesthetics. I bet Jay will do the same! Frank, is this count as controlled comedy at this point? Fuck…

Damn, how did I miss a new Chucky movie. What was I doing in 2013?? And on top of that, one that brought the franchise back its horror roots and it was well received?? I’ll have to check out Curse of Chucky this weekend. I lost interest after the two comedies. Did you guys ever talk about Curse of Chucky on the show?
