She’s Gotta Have It Teaser: Spike Lee’s First Netflix Original Series

Although Amazon made a big splash by landing Spike Lee’s Chi-Raq as their first original movie, that certainly hasn’t kept Lee in any sort of exclusive deal with them. His next couple of projects find him jumping over to Netflix instead, starting with his film of Roger Guenveur Smith’s one-man show Rodney King (which premiered back in April), and now his very first TV series. She’s Gotta Have It is described as a contemporary update of his 1986 directorial debut and stars DeWanda Wise as Nola Darling, a Brooklyn artist who is simultaneously dating three very different men. The first teaser trailer is fairly short and for some reason has been pulled offline in the U.S. but is still currently available on the Netflix U.K. YouTube channel. She’s Gotta Have It arrives on Netflix this Thanksgiving; check out the teaser after the jump and see what you think.

Fucking finally! I have been fuck waiting for this fucker. Frank, do you think we can transpose our enjoyment of screen ratios? Hopefully my presuppositions of exploratory film will be fulfilled transically.
