Marvel’s Black Panther Trailer

Fresh off its premiere during the NBA Finals tonight, here is the first trailer for Marvel’s Black Panther. With all the focus on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok right now, it was easy to forget that this movie also comes out early next year. The trailer gives us our first look at Michael B. Jordan as Erik Killmonger, Danai Gurira as Okoye and Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia aka Malice (among others). Although it is directed by Ryan Coogler (Creed), I was actually surprised by how much this feels like a movie made by the Wachowskis. Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman and it hits theatres on Feb. 16th, 2018; check out the first trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

I like superhero movies and I liked Black Panther in Civil War, but I’m not yet sold on this movie.

Could be the Action Jackson of the MCU,

  • Flo Lieb

Very heavy on the SF-elements – didn’t know Black Panther had so much tech in its world.

  • Beat_C

the mix of ethno and futuristic aesthetics works really well IMO.

I was sold by the few glimpses we got of Creed and that little bell sound you hear over the title reveal. I’m HYPED.

Moratorium on “the world is changing”?

  • LordAwesome

Fucking horrendous digital cinematography. Looks like a BBC show at times.

  • Lori Cerny

You best not be including Doctor Who on that list!!! (Boo. Hiss.)

Doctor Who is one of the worst things to ever be exported out of that country.

Eddie Murphy should have been Black Panther. That way, Coming to America could just be played off as T’Challa’s Rumspringa.

  • I don’t understand how the look of these movies is so consistently terrible

So wait a sec? There is a super advanced civilization in the heart of Africa that has tons of money, resources, and food, and they didn’t spend a penny to help their african brothers from poverty, war, and Starvation? And they are the good guys? WTF?

I know nothing about Wakanda, but this is what Wikipedia says:

“Due to its isolation and intentional isolationism, Wakandan technology has, until recently, developed entirely independently of that of the rest of the world. As such, the design philosophies and methodologies are different, and often incompatible, with conventional equipment. Wakanda is the world’s most technologically advanced country.”

  • Nick P.

So doesn’t that bolster my argument? you don’t need compatible software to feed dying kids!

  • Sean

Yeah I guess. Clearly they choose to isolate themselves, but I do not know why.l

How do you know they didn’t? Has it been established the there was a famine in Africa in MCU? Maybe there wasn’t.

  • Richard Kelder

Does anyone know if the outro music is self-made or that it has its own clip? Outro is CRAZY cool

  • Sean

It’s all from this song, possibly a slightly remixed version:
