American Made Trailer Starring Tom Cruise

With The Mummy hitting theatres this weekend, Universal has unveiled the first trailer for Tom Cruise’s next movie, American Made, which finds him reteaming with Edge of Tomorrow director Doug Liman. Based on a true story, the movie stars Cruise as Barry Seal, a pilot who worked as a drug runner in the 1980s before being recruited by the CIA to go undercover. While it does seem to be a different kind of role for Cruise, these slightly comedic true crime biopics are starting to feel awfully familiar these days. No doubt the Pablo Escobar name drop will be more than enough to get all the Narcos fans on board as well. American Made co-stars Domnhall Gleeson, Sarah Wright, Caleb Landry Jones and Jesse Plemons and it hits theatres on Sept. 29th. Check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

Refreshing to see Cruise doing more roles like this besides the archetypical hero.

Domhnall Gleeson has the best agent in Hollywood. This guy does nothing but high profile projects, with acclaimed directors. He’s also in the new Darren Aronofsky film out later this year.

    Looks good, please be good!
