Star Trek: Discovery Trailer

startrekdiscoverytrailer

After a rocky start that led to several delays and the departure of showrunner Bryan Fuller, things now appear to be back on track for the premiere of CBS’ new Star Trek TV series, Star Trek: Discovery. CBS debuted the first full trailer during their upfront presentation this week, showcasing a cast that includes Michelle Yeoh, Sonequa Martin-Green, Jason Isaacs, Doug Jones and Rainn Wilson. The show is a prequel that takes place one decade prior to the original series and the first season revolves around “an event in Star Trek history that’s been talked about but never been explored.” Star Trek: Discovery will premiere sometime this fall on CBS before going exclusively to their subscription-based streaming video service CBS All Access (it will air on Space in Canada and Netflix in several other territories). Check out the first trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

    LOOKS. LIKE. GAR. BAGE.

Looks like a update of Enterprise, would be nice to bring good old Backula back, just for fun. Looks like they will only move back in the “Classic Timeline” and keep the “Spock kills Rolumus” and goes back in time. So there will be no “new” Enterprise, only old “more modern” looking old ships.

    Hope Reed like it.

I think this looks very good, but the m83 song feels out of place. I can’t wait tbh

Bah too many prequels of prequels. I’d rather they go forwards not back. Not digging this at all.

Any trekkies out there know what this historic event could be?

Oh my days thats a dull trailer

This is what I’ve been saying. Star Trek is about going forward, while pointing the mirror back to now. If you keep looking back, the reflection does not show the image that we need to see.

This is just candy for the eyes. Star Wars does that just fine.
