The Gifted Teaser: Our First Look at Fox’s New X-Men Series

Well it’s not much to go on but here is your first look at Fox’s upcoming X-Men TV series, now officially titled The Gifted. Apparently the full trailer is coming next week, but for now we’ll have to settle for a few quick clips and a logo. The show revolves around two parents (Stephen Moyer and Amy Acker) whose lives are thrown into turmoil when they discover that their children are mutants. Of course, they also happen to be relatives of Hydra agent Baron von Strucker, so clearly there is something more to the story. Bryan Singer is directing the pilot and Matt Nix (Burn Notice) is acting as showrunner. The Gifted premieres on Fox this fall; check out the first teaser after the jump and let us know what you think.

I’ve always liked the X-Men a lot, I hope it’s better than the marvel shows but it’s hard to tell

So FOX can use Hydra in their productions? I’m so confused as to what they can and can’t use. Isn’t Hydra heavily involved in the Agents of Shield show?

I suspect they can’t actually use Hydra only an implied association through the Strucker name. Probably the same way Marvel can use Quicksilver as long as they don’t mention Magneto. But maybe the rights are different for TV. Marvel is also co-producing so it’s pretty damn confusing.

Funny is that Wolverine first appeared in a Hulk comic, who’s rights are with Marvel/Disney. So if the first appearance in a comic is the key to the rights game, Disney could get Wolverine, to join the Avengers………
