New to Theatres This Weekend: Unforgettable, Phoenix Forgotten, Free Fire

On the surface it seems like a busy weekend for movies with five new wide releases hitting theatres, but they are all pretty unlikely to slow down The Fate of the Furious or really put much of a dent in the box office. The biggest releases of the week are the Katherine Heigl / Rosario Dawson thriller Unforgettable and period drama The Promise starring Christian Bale and Oscar Isaac, but they will also have to contend with Disneynature’s latest documentary Born in China, found footage sci-fi horror flick Phoenix Forgotten and Ben Wheatley’s Free Fire. The Lost City of Z is also expanding to over 600 theatres and in limited release we have a pair of documentaries and a sports biopic about a Finnish boxer. What will you be watching this weekend?

Free Fire is a wide release?? Hot damn, my weekend just got better.

  • I think COLOSSAL went more wide this week as well. I’m looking forward to that tomorrow!
