New to Theatres This Weekend: The Fate of the Furious, The Lost City of Z, A Quiet Passion

The Fast and the Furious franchise just keeps on truckin’ this weekend as the eighth installment, The Fate of the Furious, hits theatres a few weeks before the official start of the summer movie season. Although reviews have been all over the place, it should still easily become the second movie this year to open over $100 million following Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. As often happens with movies of this magnitude, there are no competing titles opening in wide release, although the animated movie Spark: A Space Tail is opening on over 300 screens. In select theatres, we also have James Gray’s adventure drama The Lost City of Z, Terence Davies’ Emily Dickinson biopic A Quiet Passion and Norman starring Richard Gere. What will you be watching this weekend?
