Kathryn Bigelow’s Detroit Trailer

After a long period of radio silence, this week we finally have our first look at Kathryn Bigelow’s highly anticipated next film, Detroit, which will hit theatres this August. The movie revolves around the 1967 Detroit riots, a subject that is seemingly more relevant now than ever, and brings the same gritty sense of realism that she established with her last two films, The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty. It is another collaboration with screenwriter and journalist Mark Boal and it features a cast that includes John Boyega, Will Poulter, Jason Mitchell, Jack Reynor, John Krasinski and Anthony Mackie. Detroit hits theatres on Aug. 4th; check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.
