Zack Snyder’s Justice League Official Trailer

After hyping it up over the past couple of days with some character-specific teasers, Warner Brothers finally unveiled the first full trailer for Zack Snyder’s Justice League today. For all the build up, it feels a bit underwhelming, partially because we’ve seen some of this footage before and partially because it’s just a lot of disconnected CG-heavy clips. That being said, we do get to see more of The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg than we’ve seen previously… and Aquaman rides on top of the Batmobile for some reason. For the moment, Superman remains conspicuously absent as we await potential news of his fate following Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Justice League hits theatres on Nov. 17th; check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

I don’t understand why even people who hate Zach Synder always say “Well at least his visuals are great…”. They are not! The visuals in these action sequences look terrible, just like they did in MoS and BvS. They look like nondescript/template backdrops that have no sense of geography or realism.

  • LordAwesome

Looks even worse than BvS: JAR OF PISS.

    Makes SUCKER PUNCH look coherent!

Here’s hoping this is the end for Snyder.

  • Todd S. Gallows

Cyborg’s human face looks poorly composited on. Like someone slapped their face onto a PS2 game character in photoshop.

  • Puzzy Cutz

Batman is clearly Tony Stark (being the snide rich leader who has a vision of the future space war) Wonder Woman (Capt. America the shielded war veteran out of time that has special rivalry with Batman) Cyborg (looks to be playing in the War Machine space) Flash ( clearly working in the same character niche as the Flash in X-men) and perhaps the most egregious Aquaman because the last incarnation from the Super Friends would have been a better foil to the others (Thor, the bearded viking man who smashes first and asks questions later).

  • At least the YouTube comments are funny…
“There is no daylight in DCU”
    – “That’s because all of it takes places in Zack Snyders a**hole”

  • Anthony

“Flash ( clearly working in the same character niche as the Flash in X-men)”

    I think you mean Quicksilver.

    HOLY@#%$#%#^!!!!!! That looks like Sh@%#%#%#%#TTTT!!!!

My eyes are tearing from sheer horror! Man That looked like crap!

I’ve always liked the Marvel and DC universe and comics in general but my preference was always for DC. Superman and Batman being my favorite characters. I grew up reading the teen titans, Justice league, Doom Patrol, and Wonder Woman and thinking these will one day make great movies! Well that’s not happening folks!

I’m not sure what Snyder is doing and this overly Machismo filled CG filmmaking is just getting tiresome. I might be in the minority but I still enjoy his version of the Watchmen which I thought was faithful to the source material while improving on things that I thought needed improving. But since then, his Filmmaking has been just all over the place…form sheer rotten to Ok to just WTF???!!!

I’ve always wanted a DCU that competed with Marvel’s U. Granted not all of Marvel’s movies have been great but Kevin Feige seems to understand the source material and built a cohesive product that makes the Marvel Universe thrive on screen producing plenty of winners like Iron Man , CA, and Doctor Strange with more characters to come.

Snyder is no Kevin Feige and IMO in order for the DCU to really succeed go back to the source material and really understand what makes the DCU tick…then likes bring that formula to the screen! But first lets find a Kevin Feige for the DCU.

  • Do we have a runtime for this yet? Extended version in the works already?

As a huge fan of the vastly underrated and future classic BvS, I’m a fan of what Zach Snyder’s doing.

The CGI in this trailer stands out, something I didn’t feel was the case with BvS, however, they are months from completing the film, and for all the haters, I don’t get why they can’t appreciate at least some of the positive aspects Zach brings to these movies. I’m talking about his casting choices, his costume choices which are the best of any past or current superhero film, his shot composition, his action scenes, his scores, the performances he gets from his great cast, and his attempts at trying to tell a realistic and relatable story about superheroes, from a Superman trying to find his way in the world in Man of Steel to a Batman who’s lost his way in BvS.

I don’t know what haters want, maybe more of what they’re used to, but I’m after something different and that’s what Zach provides.

Lemme guess. 60min of batman assembling this team + setting up villain another 60min of them encountering the villain + bickering with each other and another 60min of them fighting the villain.

  • RockJoker

not everybody is a hater. bvs is just bs, and that’s why people including this podcast hosts don’t seem to enjoy it. it’s perfectly fine that you did, though.

  • RockJoker

it will be around 150 min

  • RockJoker

    that is hilarious

The Marvel movies have lots of problems. In the realm of film, they’re not great movies. But to long-time comic book fans, they at least offer the comfort that they are familiar to the source material. To the average movie-goer they are relatable and easy to digest; good “popcorn” flicks. The DC movies have lots of problems too…just…different problems. Other than the visual style I can’t even always put my finger on what it is either. They’re like the one kid at school who you know is “special” but you just don’t know exactly what is wrong with him.

  • Jameson

Ezra Miller and Jason Mamoa look like they’re having fun in their respective roles, but holy shit the action looks absurd. With all of the flaws BvS had, at least some of the sequences i.e. the Batman warehouse fight were well directed. Here, it’s like Snyder is stepping backwards with his indulgence in slow-mo jumping and in front of green screens.

Joker – the point is that by saying it’s bs you’re a hater by default – a concept which is best understood as children trying to get their own way crying at mommy. ‘If you don’t like what I like then you are a hater of me getting my own way!’ Ah is an ahsshole lol.

  • Nick P.

it doesn’t terrible. But man I hope some of that CG gets worked on, cyborg in particular looks like shit.

  • Nick P.

There is a word for people like you, partisan. And I mean the old version, not the new one.

  • Nick P.

I wonder if the problem is simpler than all that. The DC universe just isn’t that big or interesting. Batman and Superman and then……… A whole lot of nothing.

  • Nick P.

I agree with this 100%. The visuals in 300 and watchman were stunning. He hasn’t done anything like that since.

  • 1138sw

Perhaps but I grew up reading DC and I think their B heroes would make for a great universe. I mean The Flash, Wonder Woman, Green arrow, Martian manhunter, and various others would be awesome to see on screen.

I mean who would have thought that the first great Marvel movie would be Iron Man…who I think most people would have considered a B character in the Marvel Universe behind Spidey, FF, Hulk and CA.

I think DC/WB needs a Feige…a Steve Jobs type of vision!

But either way DC movies are a mess and the future isn’t so bright so I hope things change for the better…sooner than later!

  • RockJoker

Yeah, i get it. But who knows. Maybe this fella is not yet lost to the concept of different perspective on things.

  • gibson8

Everyone has their own bias’. To deny that is to profess no favourite, no preference and to have no personality. You allege unreasonable bias yet the majority agree with my assessment that this is cgi wank. The lack of reason lies with thy.

I think you’re on to something, Nick. The thought of focusing on the Flash or Aquaman makes my eyes roll. And what’s up with it looking like they’re facing some generic villains? Villains are the only thing DC does well! Use them, for fuck’s sake.

  • mikeyt34

Zack Snyder started out well with Dawn of the Dead, 300, and the Watchmen. Not great movies, but not bad either. Everything he’s done since then is absolute shit IMO and this looks like no exception.

  • ReelJunkie

It’s just dark cgi muck with fast flashy editing.
