David Ayer’s Bright Trailer Starring Will Smith

After debuting a Stranger Things trailer during the Super Bowl earlier this month, Netflix once again flexed their marketing muscles during the Oscars last night to debut the first teaser trailer for their upcoming original film Bright. Directed by David Ayer and starring Will Smith, Noomi Rapace, Joel Edgerton and Edgar Ramírez, this is a unique fantasy / buddy cop mash-up that takes place in an alternate modern world where humans, orcs, elves and fairies all co-exist. The story revolves around two cops, one human (Smith) and one orc (Edgerton), who are forced to team up to protect a young female elf and a powerful relic that could prove dangerous in the wrong hands. Written by Max Landis (American Ultra, Chronicle), Netflix paid $90+ million to acquire it in a bidding war with several other studios. Bright arrives on Netflix sometime in December; check out the first teaser after the jump and see if you think it was worth all that cash money.

What a terrible trailer. I’m still interested in the movie, but that was a truly horrendous trailer.
