Watch the Alien: Covenant Prologue Online Right Now

So this is kind of a cool idea. Instead of releasing another new trailer for Alien: Covenant, Ridley Scott and 20th Century Fox have decided to give us a five-minute short film that acts as a lead-in to the movie. I guess it’s kind of like releasing the first five minutes of the movie ahead of time, but in this case it won’t actually be in the movie. Directed by Ridley Scott’s son Luke, the short is titled “Prologue: Last Supper” and it introduces us to the crew of the ship and their mission while also hinting that something sinister is in store. Alien: Covenant hits theatres on May 19th; check out the prologue after the jump and let us know what you think.

I’m a bit more positive about it after seeing this. Blomkamp’s idea being kicked to the curb still sticks in my claw though.

Looks awesome, loving Danny McBride… music at the end sounds like it’s borrowing HEAVILY from Mass Effect, in a good way.

Was very skeptical before, but this has me doing a full 180. Loved Prometheus and hoping this is tied to that film more closely than they are letting on.

“(W)alter” seems like a step down from (A)sh, (B)ishop, (C)all. and (D)avid but I still approve of this Public Service Announcement.
