New to Theatres This Weekend: Rings, The Space Between Us, The Comedian

With the Super Bowl happening on Sunday, all signs are pointing towards a pretty slow weekend at the box office. M. Night Shyamalan’s Split is likely to make it three in a row, although it will face some competition from another horror movie: Rings, Paramount’s long-delayed reboot of The Ring franchise. The other new movie in wide release is the sci-fi drama The Space Between Us, which is getting dismal reviews and doesn’t seem to be much of a factor. Opening on approximately 850 screens, we also have the Robert DeNiro dramedy The Comedian, and in select theatres we have Tsui Hark’s Chinese blockbuster Journey to the West: The Demons Strike Back and the Oscar-nominated documentary I Am Not Your Negro. What will you be watching this weekend?
