XX Trailer: A Horror Anthology Directed by Four Women

We’ve seen quite a few horror anthology movies released over the past few years to varying levels of success, from the V/H/S and The ABCs of Death films to smaller releases like Tales of Halloween and Holidays. Now this year XYZ Films is assembling a new anthology flick called XX that offers up a female perspective on the genre. The movie was originally announced back in 2013 and at the time it was set to feature segments by The Soska Sisters, Karyn Kusama, Jennifer Lynch, Mary Harron and Jovanka Vuckovic. Only Kusama (The Invitation) and Vuckovic (The Captured Bird) ended up contributing to the final film with Roxanne Benjamin (Southbound) and Annie Clark (aka St. Vincent) also directing chapters as well. The cast includes Natalie Brown, Melanie Lynskey, Breeda Wool and Christina Kirk and the film will be premiering at Sundance later this month. XX hits select theatres and VOD on Feb. 17th; check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

Sean I believe St. Vincent refers to Annie Clarke’s musical stage-name. Interested to see her directorial debut.
