Believe it or not, the endlessly delayed reboot of The Ring series, Rings, currently still appears to be on track for its planned February release. Paramount has released a new trailer this week to remind us that this movie still exists, although at this point they’re not giving us much of a reason to care. The new trailer settles for a fairly straightforward explanation of the basic premise, which is probably in order considering that the original film came out 15 years ago. With a time gap like that we all know that the key difference with this one will be the addition of the internet, which should expedite things significantly. Beyond that, however, it is unclear what new tricks (if any) Samara will have up her sleeve. Rings is directed by F. Javier Gutiérrez (Before the Fall) and hits theatres on Feb. 3rd; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.
