We’ve known for a while now that the Hulk has a fairly large supporting role in Thor’s next solo film, Thor: Ragnarok. But as with all of these post-Avengers solo movies, Marvel’s general rule of thumb seems to be the more superheroes the merrier. One of the post-credit scenes from Doctor Strange clearly hinted that Thor and Doctor Strange would be working together in the near future. Now this week we have some additional confirmation that Benedict Cumberbatch may be making an appearance in Thor: Ragnarok after all. Hit the jump for more details.
A recent post over at D23.com, Disney’s official fan club page, describes the plot of Thor: Ragnarok like so:
“If you need even more intergalactic, world-saving action, Thor: Ragnarok in November brings together Thor, the Hulk, and Doctor Strange to face off against intergalactic baddies both familiar and new.”
That’s not quite a full-blown announcement, but since it is coming from an official source, it appears to be legit. What remains to be seen is just how much screen time Doctor Strange might have in the movie. We know that the movie will draw from elements of the Planet Hulk storyline and that director Taika Waititi has referred to it as a “’70s/’80s sci-fi fantasy” and “the most ‘out there’ of all the Marvel movies.” Doctor Strange does not sound like he would be out of place in such a movie, but I guess we’ll have to wait to find out for sure. Are you looking forward to Thor: Ragnarok?
