The Emoji Movie Teaser Trailer

The first trailer for one of the most anticipated movies of 2017 is here… of course, I’m talking about The Emoji Movie! From visionary director Anthony Leondis (Igor, Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch) comes a story about the “never-before-seen secret world inside your smartphone.” All of the emojis live in a place called Textopolis, including Gene (T.J. Miller) who was born without a filter and sets off on a quest to hack the code and become a normal, single expression emoji. (I’m actually not making this up.) Anyway, the first teaser trailer mainly focuses on Gene’s father Meh, voiced by the one and only Steven Wright. These movies write themselves! The Emoji Movie hits theatres on Aug. 4th; check out the teaser after the jump and see what you think.

You guys need to do this one as a main review.

  • Colin

    I want to die

  • Lori Cerny

What a great idea! A suicide emoji.

  • Lori Cerny

Hmm, that is Stephen Wright doing the voice of “Meh,” right?

Visionary director?? Come on Sean. Let’s save that for the Kubricks of the world, not the guy who did Lilo and Stich part 2…

  • Sean

    I was being sarcastic obviously!

  • 9No

The sarcasm was clearly dripping out of those paragraphs.. (It’s also not one of the most anticipated movies of 2017 fyi.)

This would be appropriate place for the “embarassed” emoji. Quite fitting in the circumstances.
