Despicable Me 3 Trailer

After giving those lovable Minions their own spin-off last year to somewhat lacklustre results, Illumination Entertainment will once again refocus on Gru next year with Despicable Me 3. The story apparently revolves around the appearance of Gru’s long lost twin Dru, but this first trailer is heavily focused on a new rival by the name of Balthazar Bratt (voiced by Trey Parker). The character is primed for maximum ’80s pandering, complete with Michael Jackson dance moves, outdated fashion sense and a keytar. Steve Carell is back to voice the lead character (obviously) while Kristen Wiig is also returning along with Russell Brand and Miranda Cosgrove. Despicable Me 3 hits theatres on June 30th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

If he has that Squirt gun, does that mean one of his children has a loaded firearm? I’m intrigued by the use of Trey Parker, but his actual voice seems pretty downplayed/unrecognizable
