After having a pair of his comics adapted by Terry Zwigoff in the 2000s with Ghost World and Art School Confidential, Daniel Clowes is returning to the big screen next year with a live-action take on his graphic novel Wilson. The movie stars Woody Harrelson as a cantankerous and neurotic middle-aged man who sets off on a journey to reconnect with his ex-wife and their estranged daughter. Fox Searchlight has released the first trailer for the film this week and it happens to be a red band one, focusing on Wilson’s misanthropic interactions and foul-mouthed barbs. It feels a bit like a dark comedy in the vein of Bad Santa, although sadly Terry Zwigoff is not directing this time around. Wilson is directed by Craig Johnson (The Skeleton Twins) and it hits theatres on March 24th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.
