A couple of summer horror movies and some catalogue genre stuff make up the bulk of this week’s new DVD and Blu-ray releases arriving just in time for Halloween. The well-received horror flick Lights Out is now in stores along with the “techno-thriller” Nerve starring Dave Franco and Emma Roberts. Other new movies include Skiptrace starring Jackie Chan and Johnny Knoxville, indie dramedy Captain Fantastic starring Viggo Mortensen, and Danish comedy Men & Chicken starring Mads Mikkelsen. Meanwhile, Scream Factory is releasing a brand new collector’s edition of William Peter Blatty’s The Exorcist III and Arrow is putting out a 17-disc box set of Herschell Gordon Lewis films. Luis García Berlanga’s The Executioner is also out via Criterion and the Mad Max High Octane Anthology Collection (including the Black & Chrome version of Mad Max: Fury Road) is available a few months early exclusively on Amazon. What will you be picking up this week? Check out the list of noteworthy releases after the jump.
