I’m with Frank concerning the Logan trailer, the song made my eyes roll right out of my head but the worst part is you know it’s going to be a complete bait and switch. NONE of these solo Wolverine movies have been any good and this one is going to be just as bad and possibly worse than the last…this trailer is pure trickery, DO NOT fall for this crap!

  • Jake

Are episodes under 2hrs the new normal now?

  • devolutionary

Oh poor Tommy Boy! With sequelitis and remakes abound (The Mummy, Top Gun 2, Reacher), the next Mission Impossible can’t come out soon enough for him. IMDB says in pre-production.

  • Sean

Not really. I suspect the next episode will be a long one. We rarely know ahead of time how long a show is going to be. It depends on how many movies we watch, how much we have to say about those movies, whether we have guests and whether or not there are other things to discuss. Over the past little while, we’ve had some lacklustre movies, no guests and not much in the way of news or junk mail either. Plus we’ve been trying to fit in two premium podcasts for Halloween and we’ve been relatively busy in our personal lives as well. So it’s a lot of things. But it’s not a conscious choice.

You know you’re doing something right, when people (kind of) complain about your podcast’s not being long enough. :-) Keep up the great work!

  • Indianamcclain

No love for The Wolverine? Say whatever you want about X-Men Origins, but The Wolverine was a pleasant surprise.

  • ah

Great ep! Jay killin’ it again! Considering how many comedians have podcasts, Jay still manages to be the funniest podcaster out there, ably abetted by Sean and Frank.

  • Mister Quigley Jr.

It looked exactly like the trailer for BLOOD FATHER. Which is great for me, but he’s got like knives for knuckles. The song choice agreed was a bit of a stumble.

  • Brian.M

As soon as I saw that trailer and Hurt started playing…Frankie would be rolling his eyes!

  • Brian.M

I enjoyed The Wolverine. It’s a good low stakes mutant movie. I would rather see more hero movies that were low stakes like this. In fact I think it might make a good double-bill with Dredd.

  • LordAwesome

It was really good until the shitty “we have to have a giant boss battle because we’re a comic book movie” ending.

  • Indianamcclain

To be fair The Wolverine is an almost 2 hour movie, and that fight takes up maybe 5 minutes. It wasn’t enough to overshadow the rest of the film imo.

  • A red band trailer can only play on R rated films or higher. A green band trailer for a PG-13 film can play on PG, PG-13 or R rated films. Making a red band trailer for a PG-13 film is fucking stupid, because you couldn’t use that footage in the film. So you’re wasting marketing money courting the wrong audience based on scenes that aren’t in the film.

  • Tommy

Maybe it came with low expectations, but I enjoyed Jack Reacher Round 2 a whole heck of a lot more that Jason Bourne.

  • In defense of Frank, that Cash song was used in the opening credits of Dawn of the Dead to represent the apocalypse.

  • In defense of Andrew, he thinks all Johnny Cash songs sound the same.

  • I guess I mis-remembered.

    But
    A) Frank’s point still stands – similar songs by the same artist.
    B) On that album, they all kinda do.

    Walk Hard sir.

I carve out whatever length the podcast is! you guys are great!! 250 eps and counting

  • No one important

We need more Playstation VR talk. You lot are in the gaming industry right? You should jump into Playstation VR early before the gimmick begins to bore the masses. Apparently there’s a virtual cinema application that let’s you watch DVDs and Blurays in a virtual cinema. You need to dump that new short film of yours into a virtual “drive in” cinema. Make it into an interactive experience. As you watch the film you can walk freely around the cinema grounds, purchase poutine from the diner, take a piss in the toilets and miss half the film. Then as the film concludes… A virtual twister rips the cinema screen in two and chaos ensues.

    “Break me in half…”

The movie wraps up nicely but that final action sequence still bugs me a bit. Aside from that, I think it’s one of the best recent comic book movies, especially the extended R-rated version. Not releasing that cut originally was a missed opportunity, especially since they’re going ahead with the R for Logan anyways.

  • Nobody

I think you guys probably would’ve enjoyed The Accountant more than Jack Reacher. Affleck was da bomb in it.

  • B.J.

Agreed, even though Jay´s comedic grand jetés are sometimes bordering on him jerking off into his own mouth.
