Kelly Reichardt’s Certain Women Trailer

certainwomen

Over the past decade, Kelly Reichardt (Wendy and Lucy, Meek’s Cutoff) has been quietly establishing herself as one of the most respected and fiercely independent female directors working today. Her latest film, Certain Women, premiered at Sundance earlier this year and is now set to debut at TIFF before getting a limited theatrical release next month. The movie focuses on three intersecting stories about a handful of strong-willed women in Montana who are missing something in their lives. On paper, the plot specifics may seem somewhat mundane, but with a cast that includes Michelle Williams, Laura Dern and Kristen Stewart, you know this is going to make for a simmering stew of suspense and emotion. Certain Women hits select theatres on Oct. 14th; check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

Looks very cool. Though I’m not sure how I feel about KS who I consider kind of light weight when you see the other talent involved in this movie…for some reason I’ve just never found her sincere on screen.

I’ve seen it. I actually thought Kristin Stewart’s story was the strongest. Seeing Personal Shopper at the same festival left me pretty positive on her.
I didn’t like Night Moves much, but I LOVED Wendy and Lucy and Meek’s Cutoff, so was looking forward to a more down to earth female focused movie featuring Michelle Williams, but overall, I was pretty disappointed.

I actually like Kristen Stewart in these smaller independent roles, like in Clouds of Sils Maria where her performance was great.
For some reason she always seemed miscast and awkward in the bigger franchise roles, like the bland Snow White one she did..
