Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders Teaser Trailer

A couple of years ago when Warner Brothers finally got their act together and released the ’60s Batman TV series on DVD and Blu-ray, it was part of a revival of sorts for the show that included a Batman ’66 comic book series and a new line of merchandise and toys. At the time, there was also talk of a new animated feature starring Adam West and Burt Ward and now this week we finally have our first taste of that project. It is called Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders and it also features the return of Julie Newmar as Catwoman, but if you were hoping for a throwback to the old Filmation and Hanna-Barbera cartoons, you may be a little disappointed. For one, Adam West and Burt Ward’s voices are not what they used to be, and on top of that this feels a little too self-aware for my liking. That being said, I will no doubt give the movie a look when it finally gets released this fall. Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders hits Digital HD on Oct. 11th and Blu-Ray on Nov. 1st; check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

    Adam West sounds drunk.

  • He sounds like he got struck by lightning.

I checked out the Batman ’66 comics, they were cute but ultimately it IS the performance of Adam West that makes this version of Batman fun and worth the time. This will make for at least one entertaining evening me thinks.
