David Brent: Life on the Road Trailer #2

Earlier this week Netflix announced that they had acquired Ricky Gervais’ upcoming movie David Brent: Life on the Road for release in the U.S. and select international markets. While that is potentially exciting news, it is a little disappointing to know that we will have to wait until 2017 to see it here in North America even though it is hitting theatres in the U.K. this summer. eOne has also released a brand new trailer for the film, which gives us a better idea of what to expect from this fictional tour documentary following David Brent and his band Foregone Conclusion. It seems to me that Gervais still has a strong grasp on what makes this character both hilarious and tragic and the movie could finally end his string of mostly disappointing feature film projects. David Brent: Life on the Road hits theatres in the U.K. on August 18th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

Looking forward to this. I find Gervais funny with the exception of all his films and the terrible Derek. Hopefully Stephen merchant has been involved in the writing. It wouldn’t be a true office spin off otherwise.

Unfortunately I’m pretty sure Stephen Merchant is not involved.

Hmmm… we will have to wait and seen.
