Life, Animated Trailer

Here’s another documentary that’s been getting great reviews on the festival circuit this year, having picked up a Directing Award at Sundance and even a nomination for the Grand Jury Prize. Life, Animated is based on the book by Ron Suskind and tells the extraordinary story of his son Owen, who was diagnosed with autism at age three. He was unable to communicate with his parents and the people around him until they found a way to use his love of Disney animated classics like The Jungle Book and The Lion King as common ground. Director Roger Ross Williams previously won an Academy Award for his short doc “Music by Prudence” back in 2010, but something tells me he could be back at the Oscars again with this acclaimed, heartwarming tale. Life, Animated hits select theatres on July 1st; check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.
